The latest reports on fundraising indicate that Rick Perry received a humongous infusion of cash before his bumbling performance in the last debate. Perry took in $ 17 MILLION from 22,000 donors.
Ron Paul, however had a donor base of over 100,000 donors suggesting greater and deeper support among Republican partisans.
Nevertheless, one unreported fact arises from this week’s financial supports. Of all the contributions made by active-duty military personnel 71% contributed to the Ron Paul campaign.*
Think of this — 71 %! Despite the blatant kowtowing to the military brass made by every Republican, Ron Paul enjoys the greatest support from the men and women on active duty. The man who says bring them home and stop sending them to every oil patch on the planet is the one supported by those who fight the battles.

* This is computed among Republican candidates. If we compute the donations made to ALL candidates, including Barack Obama, Ron Paul receives 51% with Obama coming in second at 29%. A distant third is held by Herman Cain with 9%.
Paul is the only candidate (Democrat or Republican) who opposed the bail-outs and these endless wars.
I want to cite this in an article I am writing. Could you please provide the source you used to obtain these statistics?
71% is an astounding percentage. I told my colleagues and one of them mocked the establishment by stating sarcastically, “So I guess that just means that 71% of the military supports Ron Paul’s policies; that doesn’t mean we should take him seriously.”
The Stats come from the 2d Quarter Report on Campaign Contributions but can be found
as well at the candidate’s website “RonPaul.com”
