We are not quite sure of the stats on this one but the Syrian Civil War might be the longest running conflict that has not received an infusion of American blood. For some irrational reason whenever there is a bloodletting somewhere on the planet the Government feels obliged to sacrifice American lives as well.
Not to worry, Emperor Barack has dispatched a force to the eastern Mediterranean and the USS Eisenhower, an aircraft carrier, with its accompanying squadron and amphibious troops is now off the coast of Syria. 8000 troops are at the ready to land to (a) search for WMD, (b) protect the people from their government, or (c) stabilize the country.
As a Nation, we are told that we can no longer afford to feed hungry children, but we can still intervene in yet another country.
