Obama: “If They Can’t Afford Bread, Let Them Eat Cake”

The Hopester-in-Chief got re-elected and now he is dropping the “liberal” image that he cultivated during the campaign as he did after the election of 2008. As the DISSENTING DEMOCRAT has said before, shame on him for fooling us the first time, shame on us for being fooled again.*

Obama’s eyes are on the prize of the Corporate directorships and Country Club memberships he will earn after this term. He will do whatever he can to please his future bosses and is offering up a Great Betrayal to America’s seniors as down payment on his dues.

What would the Obama cuts to Social Security mean to real people? MoveOn.org reports:

According to the AARP, “A typical 80-year-old woman will lose the equivalent of 3 months worth of food annually” under this plan.1

This is a bad deal for current retirees. And it’ll hit future retirees even harder, because the proposal cuts Social Security more and more with each passing year. After 10 years, benefits would be cut by about $500 a year for the average retiree. After 20 years, benefits would be cut by about $1,000 a year. And beyond that, it just gets worse.2

* Actually, “we” weren’t fooled. The Three Musketeers at the DISSENTING DEMOCRAT produced two votes for JILL STEIN of the Green Party and one for STEWART ALEXANDER of the Socialist Party.
